Legal Policy (App and Website Usage)

These terms govern your use of the OMPAY app and the OMPAY website. Read them carefully before you create an account or use the services.

Acceptance

By creating an account, downloading the OMPAY app, or using any OMPAY service, you agree to this policy and any policies referenced within it. If you do not agree, you must stop using the services.

Eligibility

To open an account or use OMPAY services, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old, or meet the minimum age required under Omani law for the relevant service.
  • Hold a valid identity document accepted under Central Bank of Oman Know Your Customer rules.
  • Be a resident of Oman or meet the eligibility criteria for the relevant product.
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into a contract.

Your Account Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and current information during registration.
  • Keep your password, PIN, OTP, and biometric data confidential.
  • Notify OMPAY without delay if you suspect unauthorized access.
  • Use the service for lawful purposes only.
  • Comply with all applicable laws when using the service.

Prohibited Use

You must not use OMPAY services to:

  • Launder funds, finance terrorism, or evade sanctions.
  • Conduct transactions on behalf of an undisclosed third party.
  • Engage in fraud, deception, or impersonation.
  • Distribute malware, scrape data, or attempt unauthorized access.
  • Send abusive, illegal, or infringing content through any messaging or note field.
  • Resell or redistribute OMPAY services without written authorization.

Intellectual Property

The OMPAY brand, logos, software, content, and design are owned by OMPAY or its licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app and website for personal, lawful purposes. All other rights are reserved.

User Content

Any feedback, suggestion, or content you submit may be used by OMPAY to improve services, subject to applicable privacy law. You confirm you have the right to share any content you submit and that it does not infringe third-party rights.

Third-Party Services

The app and website may include links to or integration with third-party services, including merchants, billers, and partner platforms. OMPAY does not control these third parties and does not endorse their content. Their terms and privacy policies apply to your use of those services.

Service Availability

We work to keep services available, but downtime can occur for maintenance, upgrades, or events beyond our control. We are not liable for losses arising from temporary unavailability where we have acted within industry standards.

Disclaimers

OMPAY provides the services on an as-is and as-available basis. Within the limits permitted by Omani law:

  • We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy of third-party content displayed in the app.
  • We do not warrant that the service will meet every personal requirement.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by Omani law, OMPAY is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including loss of profit, business interruption, or loss of data. Nothing in this policy limits liability that cannot be excluded under Omani law, including liability for fraud or gross negligence.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify OMPAY against claims, losses, or costs arising from your breach of this policy, your misuse of the services, or your violation of Omani law.

Suspension and Termination

OMPAY may suspend or close your account where:

  • You breach this policy or other applicable terms.
  • We detect fraudulent, illegal, or high-risk activity on your account.
  • We are required to do so by the Central Bank of Oman, a court, or other competent authority.
  • The service is discontinued.

You can close your account at any time through the app, subject to settlement of any outstanding amounts.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app, email, or website. Continued use of the services after notification means you accept the updated policy.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This policy is governed by the laws of the Sultanate of Oman. The courts of Oman have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from this policy, subject to Central Bank of Oman complaint mechanisms.
